HobbyKing. http://www.hobbyking.com Best prices and relatively good quality. You have to pay some $$$ for shipping, but it's worth it.
If you want a North American company, the "Ready to Fly" planes from Hobbyzone/Parkzone at http://www.horizonhobby.com are great for starting to get into the hobby…References : RC plane enthusiast. Flying for 3 years.
First, you have to define what you consider cheap.
There are "toys" at less than $50
There are "park flyers" at under $100
There are simple RTF, ARF, Kits, etc., mostly trainers, fuel or electric, at about $150
There are more advanced models from $150 to over $10,000 (cost of building a model B52, with 8 jet engines, etc.)
The more advanced models require more control "channels" and more expensive radios than the simpler easier to fly models.
At each price range the planes have certain capabilities; and require you to have certain experience to be able to fly without crashing.
Search for "RC aircraft" to find a list of hobby stores that handle SOME of these aircraft.
NOTE: SOME, like the B52 mentioned above, are built from plans, and require several years experience just to be able to build it so it will fly! It ALSO required TWO pilots!!References : 40+ years designing, building and flying model aircraft.
(I STILL crash once in a while when I make an Oops!!)
